FARM ANIMAL LINKS
All About Farm Animals: An absolute goldmine of a resource center for children and teachers. The farm page includes fun animal facts, activities, crafts, and ideas for teachers.

Animal Babies on the Farm: Ideas for teaching children the names of baby farm animals.

Kids Farm: A great tool for teachers who teach farm units, or for children (and adults!) who want to learn about life on a real farm. The site has interesting animal facts, photos, sounds, fun stories, crossword puzzles, spelling bees, and other activities. (Also included are tales and photos from the farm’s wildlife rehab center.)

Down on the Farm: By a teacher, for teachers interested in teaching farm units. Book recommendations, good ideas for songs, activities.

Down on the Farm Coloring Book: Great cartoons to print out and color! Each picture comes with a few interesting facts. (Though you may want to steer clear of Chuck Hamburger and Morlene Pork Chop if the kids love cows and pigs!)

Zoobooks: The publisher of these popular guides to animals has a terrific site for kids and teachers, with facts about animals A to Z, a virtual petting zoo, a kids club, and innovative games and activities. The site also provides excellent curriculum plans and ideas for teachers.

Animals, Zoos, and Aquariums: An excellent list of links to zoos around the world. From here you can jump to dozens of zoos and get detailed information on hundreds of species.

Kids Fun Page: Cute site with fun facts on dozens of animals; especially strong on wild animals.

World Wildlife Fund Kids: Provides educational and fun materials for users of all ages.
From WWF fact sheets, to teachers guides, to pointers to the fun areas of the site for the younger cohorts, this section has it all.

Kids Go Wild: Visually appealing, and full of fun wild animal facts, great games, and information on wildlife conservation.

Animal Diversity Web: Good for older children, or teachers who want to get more detailed information on dozens of wild animals.

Zoboomofoo Family Fun: A great site that provides children and parents/teachers with visually attractive, really fun activities that help make learning about wild animals as much fun as watching Zoboomofoo on PBS.

Amazing Animal Senses: Gives interesting examples of how some animals sense the outside world and the anatomical structures that allow them to do so.
All About Coloring: This site is bursting with free color-in-art of all kinds, including some great animals. It also has free printable activities, jigsaw puzzles, and ideas for crafts.
